Sr. Trade Operations Analyst

Job Responsibilities

The Trade Operations Analyst is a key player in Lam’s Foreign Trade Zone operations, coordinating import, export, and FTZ compliance and duty savings activities among the various organizations and 3rd party vendor partners and reporting key metrics. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager Trade Operations, you will align Trade Operations processes to corporate trade compliance policies and regional policies. Works closely with Global Trade, Supply Chain, Warehousing, and Logistics functions to meet savings and compliance goals.

The Trade Operations Analyst will facilitate key import and export activities to support the strategic global manufacturing distribution trade model.

  • Uses in-depth knowledge and experience in import and export trade operations and compliance, including FTZ manufacturing sub zones, to promote continuous improvement in a complex environment.
  • Employs critical thinking, problem solving, and a creative approach to analyze situations or data involving in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

The Trade Operations Analyst will work to achieve cost and service goals by analyzing the flow of import-export transactions and developing improvements, employing in-depth knowledge and experience to answer questions regarding Incoterms, FTZ policies, Free Trade Zone operations, and trade compliance regulation matters. Provide operational Trade Compliance advice to diverse business groups, including supply chain, logistics, shipping, receiving, and sales operations, and work with cross-functional teams to drive program improvements. Optimize Trade Operations efficiencies, while emphasizing operational compliance. The role requires the candidate to interact with both internal and external partners at all levels.

Other Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure shipments in and out of Lam Research’s Foreign Trade Zones are handled in a timely, efficient, cost effective, and compliant manner
  • Responsible for FTZ operational performance including bonded shipping, receiving, inventory control, FTZ admissions, exports, and AES filing
  • Collect and analyze data from the FTZ Administrator, brokers, and consultants to produce meaningful reports and KPIs
  • Partner with key stakeholders to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective action plans and process improvements at the FTZs
  • Handle daily operational issues related to exporting shipments, documentation, processes, and corrective actions.
  • Provide FTZ trade compliance training and on-site support to all FTZ locations in the U.S.
  • Assist Director Trade Operations in the establishment of a Global Trade Operations program.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Eight (8) years of related experience working for a major importer or zone operator. Comparable experience at a customs broker or freight forwarder, with emphasis on programs and problem solving, will be considered.
  • In-depth knowledge of export, import, and Foreign Trade Zone regulations for the U.S.
  • Foreign Trade Zone administration experience highly sought.
  • Demonstrated skills, speed, and efficiency in data management and reporting, including monthly reporting of key metrics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience communicating with all levels within a matrix organization.
  • Knowledge and experience with ACE is beneficial.
  • Skilled and experience working with SAP.

Salary and Benefits

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: Min. $80,000 – Max. $187,000

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
