Sr. UX Designer, Pricing Customer Experience

This role will directly contribute to an executive leadership level (S-team) goal related to helping Customers discover our sharpest prices.

As a Sr. UX Designer in the Pricing UX team, you are a hands-on designer and leader who will be responsible for developing best-in-class consumer experiences. You are a customer-focused, detail-obsessed, creative leader who has successfully designed and delivered consumer products at broad scale. You also have strong design, business, and technology intuition and you’re able to think big and stay connected to the details. You are a tireless advocate for design excellence with an impressive ability to build bridges and collaborate with other teams and stakeholders.

As an influential design lead, you will inform our design activities via in depth user research, partner out-reach, and iterative implementation and analysis. You will identify opportunities, problem solve, and create engaging experiences for millions of customers worldwide.

Location: this role can be based in Seattle or Vancouver where we have concentrations of other team members

Key job responsibilities
• Lead the definition of the user experience through user flows, prototypes, and mockups, ensuring a cohesive end to end experience.
• Be responsible for contributing to, developing, and iterating on concepts
• Participate in and contribute to the planning process for new experiences and projects
• Work closely with product managers, engineers, and cross teams to ensure that designs are feasible, scalable, and meet business requirements.
• Own the production of high quality deliverables and documents for presentation to your team, partners and stakeholders
• Refine your designs by considering customer data/feedback, user research, experiment results and other inputs
• Assist in the development and evaluation of user stories and usability studies
• Develop and contribute to wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes

About the team

The Pricing CX team governs the spectrum of pricing experiences on Amazon. From highlighting great prices via tactics such as reference pricing & delight pricing to protecting the customer from atypical or noncompetitive prices (FOD CX). We seek to improve customer price perception through improved customer comprehension of our prices.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, or similar role
  • Experience designing large-scale systems and applications
  • A strong portfolio of innovative, customer-centric design work that demonstrates proficiency in interaction and visual design
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Axure, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar
  • Bachelor’s, or equivalent degree, in Design, HCI, or related field or equivalent professional experience with the design field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fluency in best practices for design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques.
  • Experience designing UX for eCommerce, business tools, and customer service use cases.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills including the ability to communicate interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences at varying levels of the organization.
  • Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standards.
  • Demonstrated interaction design expertise; capacity for creating natural, highly usable designs and layouts, and a propensity towards simplification.
  • Ability to turn around rigorous wireframes and mockups in an iterative, agile environment.
  • Proficiency with current web, mobile, and accessibility standards.
  • A relentless customer focus.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
