We’re the Devices & Services Design Group at Amazon. Our team drives design innovation, delivering Echo, Fire TV, Fire Tablets, and more. We work on the Alexa app, designing on-the-go productivity and entertainment experiences. Together, we’re meeting the future head on through our Devices Human Interface Guidelines and product strategies.
Our design studio is looking for a Sr. UX Program Manager to join our growing User Experience team. As part of the team supporting Amazon Devices and Services, you will work collaboratively with designers, engineers, product management, and other program managers leading projects throughout the planning, design, and development lifecycle. As the Sr. UX Program Manager, your emphasis will be on planning and prioritization of design deliverables, resource management, schedule tracking, mitigating project risks, and collaborating with design leads to deliver innovative solutions across work streams.
Responsibilities of the role include:
• Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints
• Put repeatable processes in place that help us plan and manage multiple parallel projects and run our business
• Create, maintain, and disseminate project information to stakeholders and senior management
• Working across teams to create strong relationships with stakeholders and senior leadership teams
• Communicate project status with design team and stakeholders regularly
• Seek opportunities to make improvements to team efficiency and process.
• Primary point of contact for design, working closely with design leads and directors to proactively clarify requirements and use cases, actively seeking clarification when there is ambiguity.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 7+ years of design experience
– Experience managing UX programs and working with Design and Research
– Experience working and contributing to project playbooks, building schedules, managing issues/risks, establishing communication plans and stakeholder management
– Experience escalating issues and anticipating and making hard trade-offs between business and customer need
– Experience understanding needs of business and end customers and translating them into right solutions
– Knowledge of human-centered design process
– Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies (agile to waterfall)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience gathering and analyzing large amounts of data and delivering continuous business improvements
– Have an available online portfolio
– Experiencing working on and delivering design systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $103,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $192,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
