The Amazon Worldwide Sustainability Tech team creates the products and tools we use to measure and mitigate Amazon’s social and environmental impacts on behalf of our Customers.
Our team defends a high bar ensuring we apply and develop scientifically-credible approaches that influence all parts of our business from packaging and product design, to data centers and airline fleets. We design, develop, and deploy high precision and flexible measurement systems that drive decision making to support Amazon’s commitment to the Climate Pledge and our other sustainability initiatives.
We are seeking a Senior UX Researcher with an interest in diving deep into how Amazon can enable internal and external Amazon customers make informed decisions to reduce emissions through the tooling we build.
Your responsibilities will involve generative research to understand the customer’s journey and pain points, collaborate with UX designers and Product Managers to propose effective UX elements, internally publish research findings, provide strong analysis and interpretation of research findings from 3rd party consultants, and advice partner teams on their research plans.
Key job responsibilities
– Conduct independent research on multiple aspects of products and experiences.
– Collect and analyze user behavior through surveys and benchmark studies.
– Work with Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to prioritize research opportunities.
– Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research.
– Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and in-person presentations

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 8+ years of design experience
– Knowledge of design tools such as Balsamiq, Omnigraffle, Photoshop, Illustrator, Visio, and Dreamweaver
– Have an available online portfolio
– Experience with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and prototyping in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes
– Experience with UX design of complex workflows

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
