We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Sr. Vehicle Security Engineer to join our team. As an Sr. Vehicle Security Engineer, you will be responsible for evaluating and enhancing the security of our embedded systems devices. Your expertise will contribute to ensuring the resilience of our products against potential security threats and vulnerabilities.

Role Responsibilities

    • Secure Boot and Firmware: Evaluate secure boot mechanisms and firmware integrity, ensuring that embedded systems start in a trusted state and remain protected from unauthorized modifications.
    • Communication Security: Assess the security of communication protocols and cryptographic implementations used in embedded systems to prevent data tampering and unauthorized access.
    • Hardware Security: Collaborate with hardware engineers to assess the security features of embedded systems at the hardware level, including secure storage and hardware-based encryption.
    • Security Test Plan Development: Create comprehensive security test plans for embedded systems, defining testing methodologies, tools, and success criteria.
    • Drive cross-functional systems initiatives involving requirements, design, and integration of multiple vehicle domains, including controls, infotainment, communications, AD/ADAS, and low-voltage electrical and electronics systems.
    • The role proactively understands the collaborators’ needs and creates enablement tools and collaterals – documentation and scripts for efficient integration.
    • Closely collaborate with the Verification and Development engineers to establish product excellence; the teams span internal and external teams, including suppliers and partners.
    • Collaborate with extended teams including Controls, Security, Infotainment, UX to realize the overall integration objectives.
    • Approach challenges/problems laterally across the systems and domains and vertically drill down to subsystems and elements involved and reconcile gaps and contradictions.
    • Follow-through and Follow-up diligently to unblock the issues proactively.

Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering.
    • 5+ years related experience
    • The ideal candidate shall have over three years of experience in automotive electronics/software design, architecture, communications, and validation of automotive electrical, electronics, and communications systems.
    • Familiarity with AUTOSAR, ARXML, and Automotive-SPICE frameworks
    • Familiarity with vehicle communications interfaces and technologies, including Ethernet, CAN/CAN-FD, LIN, and network configurations
    • Conversance with automotive diagnostics protocols including DoIP, and DoCAN based on UDS standards
    • Hands-on experience in using CAN tools, e.g., Vector CANoE tools, protocol analyzers, and Wireshark tools
    • Experience using requirement management systems like JAMA, JIRA, Confluence, or similar tools.

Preferred Qualifications

    • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Master’s in computer science, Computer Engineering.
    • 3+years experience
    • Experience in Scalable Public Key Infrastructure Deployments and management

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
• California (Bay Area) – $138,000 – $165,000

Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)
