Description
Summary: The Staff Accountant will manage the Accounts Receivable for the company. This position will provide mid-level administrative and financial support services and ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of accounting transactions. In addition, work closely with other accounting personnel, internal departments, and external parties.
Reports to: Accounting Manager
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day cash management tasks, including making bank deposits, and posting cash deposits to an account receivables sub-ledger.
- Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivables data.
- Review and manage A/R Aging regularly with internal departments and provide collections updates on past due invoices monthly to Accounting Manager, Controller, and FP&A Manager.
- Prepare Accounts Receivable Forecast reports.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, verify accuracy of data, and report, identify, and correct errors made by both internal and external personnel.
- Assist in the timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of all operational management accounts.
- Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Ad hoc reporting.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
- BA/BS in Accounting, required.
- 2+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable.
- 2+ years of experience in Credit and Collections.
- Working knowledge of GAAP
- Intermediate MS Office skills with advanced MS Excel skills (v-lookups, pivots, formulas).
- Strong analytical problem-solving aptitude with creative solutions, ability to organize work with large amounts of information efficiently, manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both in writing and verbally, with management, vendors.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to change.
- Demonstrated progression of responsibilities during career.
