Staff Accountant| Rio Rancho Events Center

Overview

The Staff Accountant contributes to all accounting and financial reporting functions. These functions include event costing and settlements, performing account reconciliations, assisting with budget and financial statement compilation, conducting internal audits and maintaining accounts payable and accounts recievable documentation. Further duties include the coordination of human resources functions, responding to management information requests and assisting the Director of Finance and General Manager as needed.

This role will pay a wage of $35,000 to $40,000.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all general accounting functions including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Process Box Office reports and record transactions.
  • Assist with month end closing procedures.
  • Prepares select event settlements and sales journals.
  • Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist with payroll processing and onsite Human Resource functions.
  • Perform related accounting work in support of General Manager as needed.
  • Apply Federal, State, and local laws and regulations pertaining to accounting and auditing work.
  • Operate a ten-key calculator by touch at a speed necessary for successful job performance.
  • Operate a computer to perform accounting functions.
  • Develops and documents policies to implement internal controls and procedures to improve efficiency
  • Assists with year-end reporting, including 1099’s

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance, business administration or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Three or more years of professional accounting experience preferable.
  • Must be accurate and efficient, with ability to meet deadlines
  • Capable of working with all levels of management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
  • Strong attention to detail.
