Staff Accountant|Part-time| Liacouras Center

Overview

The Staff Accountant contributes to all accounting and financial reporting functions. These functions include event costing and settlements, performing account reconciliations, assisting with budget and financial statement compilation, conducting internal audits and maintaining accounts payable and accounts recievable documentation. Further duties include the coordination of human resources functions, responding to management information requests and assisting the Director of Finance and General Manager as needed.

This role will pay an hourly wage of $20 tp $28.00.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee and assist in all general accounting functions including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Perform accounts receivable processes including invoice preparation and recording cash receipts.
  • Handle payroll processing.
  • Balance sheet analysis.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of P&L and balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare monthly audit work papers.
  • Prepare and enter monthly closing journal entries.
  • Accounting and reporting for events.
  • Inter-company reconciliation.
  • Monthly reconciliation of accounts payable ledger to the general ledger.
  • Monthly reconciliation of employee benefits.
  • Assist with budget preparation.
  • Payroll register reconciliation.
  • Coordinate with Box Office on daily reports and deposits
  • Reconcile the daily credit card sales from the ticketing system.
  • Verify the weekly statements from the ticketing company and approve payment of the invoice.
  • Implement accounting controls and procedures.
  • Prepare a variety of financial spreadsheets, reports, and analyses for Director of Finance and General Manager.
  • Apply Federal, State, and local laws and regulations pertaining to accounting and auditing work.
  • Act as backup in providing general office and clerical support.

Nonessential Job Functions:

Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned by Director of Finance.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Accounting experience preferred.
  • High level of proficiency in Windows environment with extensive experience in Microsoft applications, especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Working knowledge of Sage 100 and Biznet, a report writer, a plus.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management and in teams.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail. Must be accurate and efficient with ability to meet strict deadlines.
