Job Description

About the Position:

Responsible for feature development and maintenance of interface/PFE (packet forwarding engine)/security functions on fixed devices, or on line cards in chassis based system.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for development and maintenance of network interfaces, protocols, traffic forwarding and security functions to achieve high performance & high scalability.

Design, implement and unit test Line card/PFE software as well as daemon modules in Junos. Write up detailed functional specification, design specification and unit test specification based on the requirements, review and get them approved from stakeholders. Develop code and unit tests based on the specifications. Commit the code after code review approval and unit tests and integration tests are completed. Complete the code coverage requirements and perform demos and proof of concepts as needed.

Write software in C/C++ and make code changes to current and next generation line card/PFE architecture. Bring up data path with Juniper ASIC or commercial chips in new platforms. Fix any problems that come from system tests and solution tests. Give feature documentation input to the Information Experience team. Triage and fix any customer issues or escalations.

Minimum Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in networking software development or in related field.
Good knowledge and experience in design, development and implementation of complex data-structures and algorithms.
Demonstrated ability to design/ implement/debug systems level software.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and debug end-to-end i.e. from daemons to chips/microcode.
Proficiency in programming C, C++ and python.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred: Experience with Link layer protocols LACP, LLDP, EAPOL, etc.
Preferred: Previous experience with Broadcom SDK.

Minimum Salary: $158,560.00

Maximum Salary:$227,930.00

The pay range for this position is expected to be between $158,560.00 and $227,930.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Juniper’s pay range data is provided in accordance with local state pay transparency regulations. Juniper may post different minimum wage ranges for permanent residency petitions pursuant to US Department of Labor requirements.
