Job Description
Spring 2024 Story Internship:
- Applications close: October 13, 2023 at 11:59pm PT
- Program Dates: January 22, 2024 – March 29, 2024
- Time Commitment: Part Time (24 hours per week required)
- Format: Hybrid (In-Person) or Remote
Responsibilities: “What would you say you do here?”
For TV animated feature-length projects, Storyboard artists translate the script or outline into drawings to visually represent the story the director and Head of Story are envisioning. They utilize their skills in drawing, character acting, composition, camera staging, and timing while using storyboarding software to create and revise storyboard sequences.
- The goal of the internship is to experience storyboarding in a production environment over the span of 10 weeks.
- The intern will be partnered with a production, working closely with story leads and mentors.
- Draw and revise story panels and ensure that storyboards align with creative ambitions, vision, and style of the film.
- Translate script- or outline-based story ideas into clear and entertaining visual sequences.
- Ask questions, clarify notes, and ensure story panels are completed per the feedback provided.
- Ensure deadlines are consistently met and communicate progress of work to supervisors and to appropriate production staff.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: “What do I need to have in order to do this job?”
- Strong skills in ToonBoom Storyboard Pro or other storyboarding software.
- Pursuing an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at a College/University (or equivalent), or being a recent graduate (within six months of graduation date).
- Strong drawing skills with a demonstrated sense of storytelling, staging, composition, and character acting.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
- Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols.
Desired Qualifications: “What can I offer?”
- Experience with Photoshop encouraged.
Hourly Rate: $17.00
