Summary:
We are looking for a Strength and Conditioning Specialist to support our Human Performance Optimization (HPO) contract with the United States Air Force based at Camp Murray. The Strength and Conditioning Specialist that will establish and administer effective strength and conditioning protocols designed to maximize the physical performance of personnel.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions
- Analyze, test, and document participant ability and develop needs assessment
- Write and organize industry appropriate, progression-based exercise programs
- Develop and improve all aspects of anaerobic and skill-related training
- Implement appropriate aerobic training
- May assist with ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, and helps to maintain the cleanliness of the fitness room
- Demonstrate and provide instruction and guidance on physical training, exercises, movements, and injury avoidance
- Design, administer, evaluate, and document the effects of physical training protocols
- Refer all personnel with an apparent new or undiagnosed medical condition to a medical provider for evaluation and treatment
- Perform administrative duties such as maintaining records of utilization, workload, conducting or participating in education programs, and participating in clinical staff quality assurance functions

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an accredited exercise science, health science, or physical education-related discipline and shall have a minimum of five years of experience with a minimum of three years of those years working with Special Operations Forces community, National Collegiate Athletic Association, or with athletes in the professional sporting ranks
- CSCS certified through the NSCA or a certified Sports Performance Coach through the USAWA
- Capable of meeting physical demands of training with SOF including the ability to hike over rough terrain and function in austere environments to observe SOF training evolutions, the ability to assist with strength and conditioning testing and training protocols, and the ability to lift and manipulate loads or weights up to 20 kilograms
- Current certification in basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to include Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training
- Shall be able to successfully pass a background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree from a credentialed college is highly preferred
- Additional credentials are desirable such as a soft tissue specialist, Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), USA Weightlifting Level 1 Certification or other certifications pertaining to providers of manual therapy for soft tissue injuries
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations, professional code of ethics, AF guidance, DoD guidance, and practice standards in order to ensure adherence within legal and professional parameters
- Possess a security clearance
The salary range for this position is $72,000 to $92,000 per year.
