Details:
A Stress Analysis Engineer (II/III) job with Belcan Engineering Group is currently available in Lexington, KY or Philadelphia, PA. This job is a full-time direct position. The position involves performing structural analysis for a variety of airframe structures and components.
Principal Responsibilities:
• Perform static, modal, fatigue, and/or damage tolerance stress analysis in support of new designs, upgrades and modifications to existing designs in support of airframe structures
• Verify structural integrity using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) as well as classical aircraft hand stress analysis methods
• Create and review structural analysis result summary presentations and reports
• Attend meetings and coordination with customer
• Participate in mentoring of junior analysts as they develop their engineering skillsets
• Work under minimal direction
Qualifications for the role include:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
• Minimum three (3) years of experience performing analysis of primary structure
• Fixed wing commercial aircraft program experience
• Strong hand calculation skills and finite element analysis capabilities (Patran/Nastran)
• Strong emphasis on customer service
• Prior mentoring experience is required
• Must have good interpersonal skills and willing to work with others effectively
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and written
• Excellent Microsoft Office Suite experience
• Travel to customer locations as required
• Due to the nature of the work being done all applicants must be U. S. Citizens
Desired experience and skills include:
• Experience with Boeing commercial aircraft
• Experience with Boeing stress tools: IAS, CSW, FAMOSS, FEADMS, MOSS Duberg, IDTAS, DTANL
• Experience using scripting languages (VBA, Python, etc)
• Experience using ENOVIA, LCA and CATIA V5
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package.
