Structural Analysis Engineer

Contract Position

$69.71-$79.40/Hour

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, integrate and document structural requirements to establish the system design.
  • Coordinate with other engineering groups to establish the product”s environment.
  • Guide product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
  • Develop test plans and configurations, support test execution and analyze/report test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Define and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
  • Support in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.
  • Work under general direction.
  • Work on 787 Empennage Gap Management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry combined with 5 + years of relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

  • Model Based Definition Interrogation
  • Software: CATIA
  • Composites Analysis
  • Static Analysis, CLPT, Bearing/Bypass, Radius
  • Bending, Peak Strain
  • Software: IAS, CSW, GKJOINT, FKBEND/UBEND
  • Metallic Analysis
  • Classical Static Stress Methods (FBD, BDMs)
  • Book 2 Fatigue Methods
  • Book 3 Damage Tolerance Methods
  • Software: IAS, CSW, IDTAS, DTANAL
  • Bolt Bending Analysis (Static and Fatigue)
  • Documentation and Archival
  • Stress Notes Documentation
  • Software: MS Word, ENOVIA
