Job Description:

The University of Florida’s Artificial Intelligence Academic Initiative Center (referred to as the AI^2 Center) is seeking a student assistant to manage website updates, web page designs, and social media postings for the fall/spring 2023-24 academic year. Must be a UF student able to work 12-20 hours per week in-office on the UF Gainesville campus. The position will report to the Associate Director of Communications and Marketing for the AI^2 Center.

Must be an enrolled UF student (Fall 2023/Spring 2024) with good academic and conduct standing with a course schedule that allows work to be completed onsite during normal business hours (M-F, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.).

Expected Salary:

$15 to $18/hour, based on experience

Minimum Requirements:

Must be an enrolled UF student (Fall 2023/Spring 2024) with good academic and conduct standing with a course schedule that allows work to be completed onsite during normal business hours (M-F, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.).

Candidate must have strong experience and proficiency in managing web content via WYSIWIG editors. Knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 is a plus. Candidate will be updating and creating content on the artificial intelligence website for the university: ai.ufl.edu. Familiarity with web design best practices is necessary.

Must be familiar with search engine optimization and be mindful of enhancing a website visitor’s user experience. Should possess a excellent understanding of social media platforms to assist with creating and publishing content to elevate awareness of AI achievements at the University of Florida.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Terminal 4 and WordPress knowledge
  • Problem solving
  • Creativity
  • Knowledge of ADA web standards
  • Experience with Google Analytics and native social media analytics tools
  • Ability to read, write and communicate professionally
  • Must be able to manage tasks successfully with minimum supervision
