General Description of Position:
The Information Center Coordinator must be proficient with processes related to Admissions, Registration, Financial Aid, Assessment, Business Support, and work effectively with Student Affairs Specialists. Must have a healthy understanding of various areas of the college. Provides education to students about the functions listed above and effectively assist students in getting their questions answered. In addition, this position will facilitate student and guest access to information and create a seamless transition into Ivy Tech Community College.
Major Responsibilities:
Ensure students, inquiries and community members receive consistent and accurate information.
Handle incoming calls, answer basic questions, and connect inquiries to other Ivy Tech South Bend-Elkhart services – escalating complex issues and questions to department specialists.
Make appropriate referrals to campus other departments and campus resources including but not limited to admissions, Career Coaching & Employer Connections, advising, tutoring and academic departments.
Utilizes virtual zoom rooms and telephone systems to manage incoming communications.
Conduct all activities within the established guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
Admissions Related Responsibilities:
Provide introduction information to prospective students and refer them to Admissions Recruiter or Enrollment Specialist.
Collect contact information from potential students who inquire about the college and are not yet entered into the database or admitted.
Registrar Related Responsibilities:
Provide basic assistance to students about online registration process.
Financial Aid Related Responsibilities:
Answer general questions and assist with inquiries of items related to financial aid (FAFSA).
Business Support Related Responsibilities:
Answer inquiries related to tuition and fees and payment options.

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree required, Bachelor’s preferred.
Prefer at least two years of direct experience in one or more of the following: registration, records, financial aid, admissions, or higher education.
Demonstrated skills in virtual communication modes.
Must possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
