Job Description
Minneapolis College is seeking a part-time Student Worker Paraprofessional for employment during academic year 2023-2024 in the Apparel Technology program within the School of Design and the Arts.
The Student Worker Paraprofessional will Assist instructors with duties within the classroom and the sewing lab during the first semester courses of the Apparel Technologies program. These courses include:
- Industrial Sewing Methods
- Pattern Development 1
- Fashion Imaging.
Required Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in a post-secondary or graduate program.
- If the student is enrolled at a credit-granting institution he or she must be carrying at least six semester (nine quarter) credits.
- If enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class, the student must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter.
- Experience with sewing machines and pattern making and garment construction.
- Experience with creative software platforms such as Adobe Illustrator.
- Demonstrates an ongoing understanding of cultural fluency. Incorporates culturally responsive practices, and actively engages in antiracism professional development learning opportunities
