Stanley Consultants, Inc. is seeking a CADD Graphics Technician in our Denver, CO office. This position uses AutoCAD software to revise and create substation physical, and protection & control type drawings that meet company and client quality control standards. Primarily functions as a drafting or project team support member and could function as drafting or task lead on simple projects.
Essential Duties:
- Create, revise, and coordinate drawing creation under direct supervision from redlined drawings, verbal, and written instructions, marked prints, sketches, computations, and other sources prepared by designers or engineers for:
- Physical drawing: equipment, equipment elevations and sections, bus details, control house layout and elevations, conduit layout and details, conduit schedules, trench plans, grounding layout and details, details sheets, bill of materials
- P&C drawings: one-line, three-line, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layout, cable, and conduit list drawings.
- Apply basic understanding and general overall knowledge of equipment, foundation, and structure types, as well as voltage levels and ampacity used on typical substation drawings
- Gather information from manufacturers and vendors drawings for drawing development
- Create and revise drawing lists, index, and cover sheet drawings
- Back-check own or others work prior returning to engineer or designer
- Apply client and company CAD standards on drawings
- Perform CAD Standards checks on electronic drawing file packages
- Perform visual Graphics checks on printed drawing sheet packages
- Run lisp, script, and VBA routine files
- Coordinate drawing development with all disciplines
- Complete drawings from conceptual development, design phases, construction, through as-built
Required skills, education, and experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of substation drafting or design experience
- Certificate or Associates degree in CADD, drafting, engineering technology or related field
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Microstation experience is a plus
- SDS Toolkit for Inventor experience is a plus
- ScriptPro knowledge is a plus
- Lisp, script, and VBA code writing knowledge are a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication, collaboration and coordination skills with drafting, design and engineering
- Basic understanding of voltage levels and ampacity used on substation projects
- Basic understanding of electrical equipment, conductors, connectors, steel structures and foundations CAD symbology used on drawings
- Basic understanding of typical substation layouts, bus arrangements, conduit, grounding, and installation details CAD symbology used on drawings
- Basic understanding of one-line, three-line, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layout, cable and conduit list CAD symbology used on drawings
- Basic understanding of civil site CAD symbology used on drawings
- Good understanding of drawing package and how changes in each drawing will carry through to other drawings and disciplines
- Good understanding of what is required for project set-up and start-up
- Highly proficient on performing CAD standards checks
- Highly proficient on QA/QC procedures
Hourly Range:Base Compensation:$26.00 -$33.00
