We are looking for an Estimator/Project Manager for our Subsurface Utility Engineering (S.U.E.) team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for proposals, estimates, presentations and marketing our Subsurface Utility services both internally and externally. The ideal candidate will actively participate in pre-planning meetings with CPRE Project Managers, contractors, and Client representatives to ensure all aspects of the departmental goals are achieved.

Responsibilities
- Identify all types of utilities in rural and urban environments using geophysical equipment, project field documentation and survey, and vacuum excavation to expose utilities.
- Develops utility drawings that are complete, accurate and organized.
- Develops new clients and seeks out new projects. Meets prospects, determines their needs, prepares and presents proposals, then enters into contractual agreements with new clients.
- Develops client and professional networks through professional associations, committees, and business associations, and promotes the professional standing of the firm through those networks.
- Confers with the client, obtaining timely decisions and approvals to ensure the project flows smoothly and alerts the necessary personnel of any changes to proposed alterations in the established budget or contract.
- Develops drawings to meet the specific standards dictated by the client.
- Coordinates survey work in relation with Subsurface Utility Engineering projects
- Maintains and monitors technical proficiencies of all Team members. Develops and implements training and educational programs to keep the company at the leading edge of technology as it relates to the work being undertaken.
- Assist with projects requested by department manager.
- Obtain a basic understanding of field activities with either previous knowledge or by participation.
- Visits project sites to review conditions as appropriate.
- Coordinates with other engineers, surveyors and technicians during duration of the project to ensure conformance to standards and contract specifications.
- Monitors the project’s schedule and budget.
- Prepares correspondence, technical specifications and reports.
- Communicates with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, internal teams, field staff and others involved in all projects, to efficiently execute the work.
- Coordinates with other engineers, surveyors and technicians during duration of the project to ensure conformance to standards and contract specifications.
- Reviews the scope of services and desired deliverables for each project and develops a task list prior to starting work.
- Attends and participates in Client meetings and planning meetings as necessary.
- Coordinates the research of records and other public sources to obtain necessary project information.
- Attends and runs project meetings with clients and other project stake holders.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of Subsurface Utility Engineering (S.U.E.) experience required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field strongly preferred.
- A valid current driver’s license
- S.U.E. Estimating and Project Management experience required
- 5 years of utility locating or designating using many types of pipe and cable locating devices.
- Experience with GIS platforms strongly preferred.
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Very organized, dependable, and professional
Pay Range: $73,000.00 – $100,000 based on experience
