The Role
This internship is for Milliman’s San Diego Healthcare Technology Consulting practices. The position will involve a diverse range of analytical projects to support the Healthcare Technology Consulting practice.
The Department/Team
The San Diego office consists of employees with diverse areas of experience and expertise in the pharmacy space. Current employees include those that have worked as actuaries, PBM analysts/consultants, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and healthcare technology consultants.
Healthcare consulting work is, by nature, constantly changing and rarely routine. Applicants must feel comfortable taking the initiative and adapting to an environment that requires resourcefulness.
Job Responsibilities
Key responsibilities will include the following:
- Programming data transformation scripts for client data sources.
- Loading data sources using Microsoft Database tools like SSIS, SSMS, and SQL.
- Developing and running client reconciliation and validation analytics.
- Working in Azure to convert current data warehouse clients to cloud based systems.
- Assisting with client analytic requests.
Experience Desired
The ideal candidate should demonstrate experience using the following skills to design and develop analytical solutions:
- Experience and knowledge of healthcare data and analytics
- Experience with SQL and SAS
- Experience with database tools and technologies
Applicants’ Requirements/Qualifications
- Currently pursuing, or has obtained, a mathematics or healthcare related degree from an accredited organization, or a graduating senior in high school who is attending college in the following year.
- Some programming experience
- Some technical capabilities, especially with Microsoft tools and technologies; this includes using Microsoft business analytics tools, and perhaps delivering solutions that include Microsoft Office components.
Location
This position is based out of the Milliman office in San Diego, California. Candidates hired into this role must be willing to work onsite full-time.
Compensation
The hourly range for this role is $34 to $42, depending on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
