Description
This seasonal position is accountable for securing and delivery of prepared meals in compliance of the Summer Feeding Supplemental Program (SFSP), to site participants throughout San Antonio, New Braunfels and rural service areas.
- Assess transport compliance of prepared meals, including but not limited to food safety, meal order documentation, delivery documentation and site communication.
- Responsible for ensuring timely delivery of meals to sites on assigned route.
- Maintain ongoing communication with sites and program manager.
- Assist in accuracy of meal order inventory.
- Ensure the delivery of meals operates in accordance with the San Antonio Food Bank (SAFB), Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and Feeding America Requirements.
- Provide technical support to sites as necessary.
- Monitor site progress in adherence to technical support communicated.
- Promotes food, personal, and vehicle safety.
- Conducts inspections of vehicle prior to departure for delivery of meals.
- Ensures proper tracking of vehicle maintenance.
- Ensures vehicle cleanliness.
- Ensure sites are aware & accessing all eligible SAFB programs including nutrition education, access to federal assistance programs and eligible distribution programs.
- Follow Program guidelines to ensure accurate and punctual completion of program deliverables.
- Other duties assigned.

- High School Diploma and or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrate exemplary customer service.

- Ability to work cooperatively with SAFB staff, volunteers, partners, and clients.
- Ability to present a professional demeanor under a variety of conditions.

- Possession of a current Texas driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Access to reliable transportation.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hand and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; talk, hear and smell. Employee must lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The work environment is a combination of traveling in, operating a motorized vehicle and unloading delivery of product outdoors. The noise level in the work environment will vary depending on location, but is usually moderate.
