Position Overview

In this role, you’ll assist company personnel in obtaining parts and supplies while helping maintain purchasing, inventory, and repair records. Wage: $20-$25/hr DOE

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Fill out necessary paperwork for maintaining inventory, ordering, and repair records.
- Answer incoming phone calls and take messages as necessary.
- Computer input and processing of purchase orders, work orders, parts information and inventories.
- Coordinate daily operations for department mail delivery, parts runs, etc.
- Communicate with Shop Manager regarding issues of pricing, suppliers, service, and department personnel.
- Run errands and perform parts running duties when or as necessary.
- Run forklift to unload incoming and load outgoing shipments.
- Assist drivers, mechanics, laborers, etc. in locating parts and supplies.
- Assist with daily shop inspections and fuel logs.
- Organize and put away incoming parts.
- Assist with general shop cleanup, including sweeping shop and taking out garbage.
- Analyze open PO report and coordinate with vendors on un-received products.
- Input parts requests into Quickbase system with prior coding.
- Facilitate communication between outside vendors and purchasing agents.
- Assist with miscellaneous monthly Environmental and Safety inspections.
- Assist with month end meter and fuel reports.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- One year parts and inventory experience highly preferred.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Must pass pre-employment physical examination and controlled substance testing.
- Demonstrates good performance, safety and attendance.
- Demonstrates ability to understand and carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
- Demonstrates excellent organizational, customer service, and telephone skills.
- Demonstrates the ability to perform work efficiently utilizing a P.C. and windows-based software such as Excel, Word, and internet-based programs.
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently, without direct supervision.
- Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills.
