The Survey Operations Associate will play a major role in supporting Priorities USA’s survey collection in the upcoming 2024 election cycle. The person will collaborate with the Data Science and Analytics departments to conduct surveys that support our research, forecasting, analysis, and experimentation efforts. We’re looking for someone who understands the challenges of electoral polling, and is interested in experimenting to identify cost-effective solutions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct surveys using various modes of collection to obtain accurate, representative data
- Manage multiple survey instruments to ensure we’re asking the right questions in the right places, and that content is aligned with best survey practices
- Build and maintain relationships with multiple survey vendors
- Improve upon existing survey quota and weighting approaches to ensure that estimates are based on a representative sample of the electorate
- Monitor and conduct quality control of collected survey data to ensure accuracy and consistency, identify gaps in our representativeness, and find additional sources to supplement when necessary
- Integrate survey data from multiple sources to conduct analysis supporting research and modeling efforts
- Contribute to the design and analysis of experimentation to improve quality of collected survey data
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in survey research, including designing, fielding, and analyzing surveys
- 1-2 years of experience working with survey vendors and managing survey projects
- 1-2 years of experience in statistical software or a programming language (e.g., R, Julia) or a proven ability to learn a programming language
- Understanding of weighting and quotas
- Strong quantitative and statistical analysis skills
- Excellent attention to detailStrong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience communicating with diverse groups, working with a multicultural workforce, and bringing a sensitivity and appreciation of cultural differences.
$80,000 – $100,000 a year
This position will have the option of being remote or working out of Washington, DC where we have an office, with occasional travel as needed. We project the salary range to be $80,000-$100,000, but will be tailored to experience. Priorities USA’s competitive benefits package includes 100% of health care premium covered for the employee and 75% for dependents, a SIMPLE IRA retirement plan with employer contributions, paid holidays, and unlimited PTO.
