Meet the team:

This position is on the Follow Verification & Validation Team within the R&D Software Department. The Software Test Development Engineer 2 Role will work cross-functionally within V&V, Software Development Teams, UI/UX, Product Owners and Project Management to define, drive and implement automation tools, infrastructure, technology, and strategy in project workstreams.

The ideal candidate will be self-driven, experienced in test tools, test automation and infrastructure and be capable of making necessary changes to increase automation coverage, efficiency, and effectiveness. They will have experience in writing, executing, and debugging automated test cases and improving test framework design and implementation, CI/CD integration, daily regression, and a broad knowledge of various test functions & types such as integration, functional, load/performance, user workflows, system and mobile.

Where you come in:

  • You design, develop, execute, and maintain automated and manual test scripts to test the functionalities of the Dexcom CGM software, and system.
  • You document software verification test protocols, and software risk analyses, for software used in commercial products.
  • You will record and track issues in the bug tracking system.
  • You analyze failures and collaborate with development teams to ensure root cause is investigated.
  • You will review software requirements and design specifications.
  • You create requirements traceability matrices which demonstrate test coverage of all features.
  • You write test reports documenting detailed results of validation, and report test progress to management.
  • You follow internal software development, cybersecurity, and validation procedures that comply with medical and security regulations.
  • You are a team player and will work well with teammates.

What makes you successful:

  • You have moderate knowledge of OOP languages such as JAVA, Swift, Python and Ruby.
  • You understand good software development and testing practices.
  • You have excellent oral communication skills for interfacing with peers in internal/external departments.
  • You have strong written skills and ability to follow Dexcom software procedures and generate required software documentation.
  • You have experience with SW automation testing.
  • You have knowledge of Android and/or iOS devices, including debugging, installation, and configuration is a plus.
  • You have knowledge of a software bug tracking tool such as Jira, Bugzilla, Rational and test case management tool such as Test Rail, Rational, Xray
  • You have familiarity with automation test framework such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, TestCafe, Appium, NightwatchJS or Cucumber

Experience and Education

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 2-5 years related experience or Masters degree and 0-2 years equivalent experience.

Exempt Salary Details

  • The annual base salary range for this role is $78,900 to $131,500. Final compensation package will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, business needs and market demand.
