The AV Products team is a product development team that is responsible for the design of the technology systems used in Amazon’s meeting spaces. We are looking to add a Systems Development Engineer SysDE) to our team to help us build the next generation of the meeting experience for Amazon. As a SysDE for AV Products, you will have the opportunity to bring innovative technology solutions to Amazon’s employees which enrich the meeting experience for its employees and influence how Amazon collaborates and communicates.
The ideal candidate has a history of creating innovative technology systems and understands how to evaluate new technologies for performance, stability and compatibility within their environment. As a SysDE for AV Products, you understand how to architect the right complement of hardware and software to craft the right user experience. As well as system design, a SysDE on AV Products is also responsible for building scalable tooling to monitor and manage the enterprise fleet of devices and systems. The right candidate has experience building or implementing comprehensive cloud-based monitoring, alarming and management solutions because the understand availability of their products and services for their customer is their critical objective.
Key job responsibilities
Develop system designs for meeting spaces utilizing both hardware and software components
Maintain the current product standards documentation package and update as needed
Product standards documentation package includes bill of materials, integration SOP, functional/schematic drawing set, configuration and code files
Conduct research activities, develop test plans and evaluate emerging technologies in the audiovisual space
Develop an/or operate device management platforms that keep the production devices in Amazon’s fleet on the correct firmware, configuration and code packages
Create and publish product standards documentation for any new products that are developed
Operate as an on-call engineer responding to any ad-hoc support tickets that come in to the team during an engineering sprint
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree [preferably in Computer Science] or 5+ years of relevant experience
- 3+ Years’ Experience of Enterprise-level Audiovisual Standards-based System Design Development and Management
- 3+ Years’ Experience of Enterprise-level Fleet Management and Monitoring
- 3+ Years’ Experience of Programming code development for Audiovisual hardware
- 3+ Years’ Experience working in an Agile product methodology
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Network+ certification or equivalent network design experience
- CTS or CTS-D certification
- AWS cloud architecture certification or relevant experience for asset management and monitoring
- Programming certification or relevant experience in Python and Javascript programming languages
- Cisco, Extron, Crestron, Biamp, QSC certifications in design or programming
- Experience in designing production or broadcast venue systems
- Certification or relevant experience using AutoCAD or similar software for system and infrastructure drawings

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $103,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
