Job Description
Apstra is looking for System Test Engineer to join the Apstra engineering team. In this role, you will work with developers and product managers to validate, test, and improve Apstra Intent-Based Networking and Analytics product.
Responsibilities
- Test Juniper Apstra product to ensure it operates as defined by requirements
- Build well-optimized network designs for Data Center networks using MP-BGP, VXLAN, layer-3 Routing, and layer-2 Switching features on Network OS such as Junos, NXOS, EOS and SONiC
- Plan, develop and implement automated and manual test plans
- Provide constructive feedback, report issues, and partner with developers to deliver outstanding product quality
- Review requirements from the Product Management team
- Use available network troubleshooting tools, including network packet captures, monitoring devices, log files, and customer feedback to facilitate effective issue resolution
- Automate new test cases based on test plan and complete them on new software releases. Develop test infrastructure libraries and tools
Minimum Qualifications
- Current enrollment in BS or MS degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar
- Experience with at least one programming language preferably Python
- Knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols and technologies
- Knowledge or minimal practical experience with at least one popular Networking Operating Systems such as NXOS, IOS, EOS, JunOS or SONiC
- General understanding of popular network deployment architectures for Campus or Data Center networks
- Knowledge of or experience with Linux-based systems and network troubleshooting tools
- Quality focused personality with a strong curiosity about finding product and interaction limitations
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in testing SDN or network management products
- Exposure to server/network virtualization and container technologies
- Exposure to Python programming language

Minimum Salary: $61,875.00
Maximum Salary:$94,875.00
The pay range for this position is expected to be between $61,875.00 and $94,875.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Juniper’s pay range data is provided in accordance with local state pay transparency regulations. Juniper may post different minimum wage ranges for permanent residency petitions pursuant to US Department of Labor requirements.
