Primary Responsibilities

The Systems Administrator I position is responsible for the following tasks:

  • Perform system administration support functions for local and enterprise-level technologies, which include planning, testing, and implementation of configuration changes and updates
  • Apply engineering, design, administration, and production best practices to enterprise-wide infrastructure systems
  • Provide problem resolution of production systems and work with technology vendors on troubleshooting and fixes to issues
  • Perform complex day-to-day maintenance tasks for production systems
  • Review and analyze program system modifications/patches for applicability to assigned systems
  • Review system logs and reports for problems and take corrective action as necessary
  • Perform technology evaluations, testing and design tasks in support of new or upgraded technologies for enterprise-wide infrastructure systems
  • Perform other duties as needed

Here are the main skills we are looking for:

  • Solid working knowledge of Active Directory in a medium to large scale Active Directory deployment
  • Some working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 and beyond
  • Good working knowledge of DNS, and Windows Server 2012 R2 and beyond
  • Some working knowledge of Azure Cloud Services and O365 Applications
  • Some working knowledge DFS, DHCP, and Messaging Archive Strategies
  • Some working knowledge of converged infrastructure concepts including Server, OS, Storage, virtualization and networking
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, related technical area, or the relevant combination of education and relevant experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in technical analysis of systems. In-depth technical knowledge of systems and architectures, systems infrastructure technologies and administering technology systems
  • Technical proficiency with administering and supporting systems management tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to develop innovative ideas for generating new approaches to solve problems.
  • Ability to gather technical requirements and translate into applicable solutions.
  • Excellent client service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate needs and new ideas with users and management.
  • Ability to formulate ideas and present recommendations/proposals to IT management.
  • Ability to write software and hardware evaluations and make recommendations for management review.
  • Ability to work with vendors to request service and work through urgent product issues

The expected compensation range for this position is $52,668.00 – $75,240.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
