The Boeing Company is seeking a Systems and Tools Integrator to join the Boeing Test & Evaluation team, working in the Metrology and Test Equipment Services (MATES) group in Berkeley, MO or Seattle, WA. The successful candidate will join a geographically dispersed and multidisciplinary infrastructure team that is responsible for developing and supporting measurement and asset management solutions for advanced manufacturing, product support, and test & evaluation activities.

MATES is comprised of engineers, technicians, software developers, data architects, data scientists, analysts, and project managers who support programs, sites, business units and external/government customers by providing best value test asset management and metrology services through all phases of the product lifecycle. Services include: calibration/certification for nearly 600,000 pieces of Measurement & Test Equipment (M&TE), sourcing management, measurement solutions, repair & maintenance, test asset selection and use, asset acquisition/allocation, resource and lifecycle management, and specialized test services.

This Systems and Tools Integrator role requires a balanced knowledge of both Metrology and of IT and business systems. This person will utilize an extensive Metrology background and broad systems knowledge to work a variety of technical, planning, administrative, and support actions based around all aspects of Common Metrology Information System (CMIS) and related applications/tools. The ideal candidate will help architect the overall vision planning and road-mapping activities for the MATES CMIS team as well as design and implement the systems, tools, and processes necessary to support those strategies. This person will be a focal for the MATES Infrastructure team by integrating these plans with other elements in the organization to support enterprise functional excellence impacting all business units.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a deep knowledge of Metrology and CMIS
  • Leads CMIS related projects by defining the work scope, detailed requirements, and estimated hours associated with changes to CMIS
  • Addresses system-to-system interface issues interoperability updates in conjunction with other teams
  • Supports regular Business Partner engagement/questions
  • Supports internal and external quality audits via demos, data pulls, training, and performing a liaison role with BT&E Quality
  • Utilizes established Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) methods and techniques to apply lessons learned to process improvements in support of BPSM participation
  • Ensures regulatory requirements (such as AS9100D) are met by the MIS and associated processes
  • Creates/modifies/runs SQL and Oracle database queries
  • Performs CMIS Admin functions such as: table maintenance, batch API updates, portal updates, and permission administration
  • Creates and maintains exception reports for the interfaces between the various IT and business systems
  • Coordinates with other business units for CMIS deployment efforts for new sites
  • Participates in weekly Agile scrums with the IT developers and the DBA
  • Supports the development of budgetary IT estimates and tracking of actuals against planned work releases
  • Creates/maintains CMIS desktop level guides, and BPG and D6 command media documents
  • Develops and maintains the Vision Plan and Roadmap the Boeing MIS in support of the Digital Transformation efforts as part of 2CES (2nd Century Enterprise Systems)
  • Translates user feedback to CMIS IT focals and participate in associated Change Board activities to support system enhancements
  • Works with the CMIS IT team to provide system requirements and business rules in support of product releases
  • Develops user acceptance tests and plan system revision releases
  • Leads development of processes to improve the data fidelity for CMIS and establish tactical actions to support the strategies needed for the records integrity initiatives

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future. The selected candidate is required to work on-site at minimum, but not limited to, 2 weeks/year.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience in metrology and/or calibration/certification and/or instrumentation

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Expert with CMIS
  • 1+ years of experience developing SQL and Oracle queries
  • Experience working with customers / end users to gather and document system requirements
  • Expert using Microsoft Excel
  • Developing/Implementing new processes across an organization
  • Experience with Project Management and/or technical integration
  • Working experience with Agile methodology (and Git/ADO)
  • Experience with Python

Typical Education/Experience:

Experienced (Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years’ related work experience, 10 years’ related work experience, etc.).

Senior (Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years’ related work experience, 14 years’ related work experience, etc.).

Summary pay range for experienced level: $84,150-$121,900

Summary pay range for senior level: $102,000-$147,200
