A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university -OR- four (4) or more years of related programming experience is required.
Additional requirements:
- Two (2) or more years of mainframe programming
- Willing to work On-Call and occasional weekends
Preferences:
- One (1) or more years with Natural and ADABAS
- One (1) or more years of COBOL programming
The salary range for this position is $50,000.00 – $60,000.00 annually.
This position may be required to occasionally perform duties other than those listed on the position description.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Knowledge of analysis and problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to write and analyze code, and to test and debug computer programs.
- Ability to think logically to analyze and resolve problems.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with customers, peers, and management both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to receive and carry out work assignments independently in a timely manner.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and to establish and maintain good working relationships with others.
- Skill in Microsoft Suite products (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook) and Visio software.
- Skill in developing technical specifications and test scripts.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
This is professional technical work implementing computer system requirements by designing and testing standards and analyzing system problems. Incumbent duties include, but are not limited to:
Defines application problem by conferring with clients, evaluating procedures and processes.
Document technical specifications to reflect system functionality based on user requirements.
Design, code, and tests user requirements from functional specifications.
Ensures operation by providing team and customer support.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Perform other related duties as required.
