The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineering Manager (Level K) to join the T-7 Mission Systems Software team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

The successful candidate will lead a diverse team of engineers responsible for full life-cycle software development of mission systems software for the T-7 ATT/Derivatives effort. This position requires project, people, and technical leadership; customer engagement; participation in design reviews; conducting employee development and employee reviews; as well as management of team budgets and schedules. The position will require management of resources and priorities across multiple software development and IR&D projects.

This position expected to be 100% onsite currently. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

  • Strong flight controls, avionics, software tool, and software design/test experience, and in methods of computer software verification, and unit level testing

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 3 or more years of experience managing/leading diverse teams
  • 5 or more years of experience in the software development full lifecycle
  • Experience in earned value management

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience attracting, developing, and challenging world class developers with a passion to drive excellence in software development
  • Broad technical experience in programming languages, development environments, operating systems, real-time embedded software, validation, and verification, and in emerging technology and engineering standards
  • Experience using automation techniques to increase the pace and flexibility to the enterprise
  • Familiarity with software and hardware integration activities and rhythms, including system-level integration and testing with multiple IPT partners prior to Flight Test software validation activities
  • Previous experience developing and/or leading development of mission-critical software for air vehicle platforms
  • Previous experience in a multidisciplinary engineering organization working with multi-functional teams
  • Experience in software product development and SAFe Agile methodologies. Understanding how to build software products in a platform ecosystem is ideal

Travel:

Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.

Summary pay range for Manager: $132,600.00 – $179,400.00
