Position Overview:

The T-7A SEIT and Program Integration Office (PIO) team has an opening for a PLM Process Engineer. This person will work with Process engineers, Design Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers to support the T-7A program with their PDM systems. In addition this person will work with the PLM Core SEIT team for and will be responsible for ensuring that the T-7A PDM systems meet current customer requirements and are updated as needed to support Boeing improvement initiatives.

The T-7A program is working through a Development Phase and is transitioning toward Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) and this position will help the team successfully complete this transition.

One activity is to work with the PLM Core team on process tools set to go-forward Digital Enterprise tools that support Model Based Engineering (MBE) and implement enterprise-level common processes. Assignments in support of this activity involve gaining expertise in the current engineering and production processes and tools and becoming a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in PDM systems in order to support the T-7A program. This includes having an in-depth understanding of the engineering design information and ensuring that the data is effectively migrated into the new systems.

Another activity is to work with our current PDM systems to support customer requirements for data deliveries that are compliant with new model based data standards. Assignments in support of this activity involve assisting in the analysis of existing engineering design, manufacturing and product support requirements relative to Department of Defense and service specific specifications. It also involves assisting in creating new methods for defining the process for creating product definition Technical Data Packages (TDPs) that are compliant with the specifications, assisting in the implementation of the process on programs and optimizing the application of newer technologies to automate the TDP process.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participation in the development of process and tool requirements for T-7A existing program activities to common digital enterprise systems and identification of gaps in both processes and tools
  • Engaging with program engineers to anticipate and resolve issues in the PDM system
  • Analysis of engineering data across applications to find issues and determine how to correct the data to ensure consistency
  • Coordinating and Developing TDP deliveries for T-7A; including supplier TDP deliveries
  • Coordinating with PLM Core to analyze TDP delivery requirements, develop estimates and align plans to meet program schedules.
  • Coordinating across organizations within Boeing to determine the authorization to release specific data and appropriate data markings
  • Boeing Command Media review and coordination with PLM Core for the T-7A program

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the Hazelwood, MO location. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Technical Bachelor’s, Master’s or a PhD degree (A technical degree is defined as any four-year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study)
  • Minimum of 3 years of PDM system experience at both the user level and working directly with engineering data housed within the PDM.
  • Experience using NX and/or Catia for engineering design
  • Experience with processes used for product design is required
  • Ability to work across engineering disciplines to identify best practices and implement on multiple programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Siemens Teamcenter is preferred
  • Experience integrating with other disciplines, such as manufacturing engineering, is desirable

Typical Education/Experience:

Experienced (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 4): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range for experienced level: $88,400 – $119,600

Summary pay range for senior level: $108,800 – 147,200
