Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Principal Bridge Engineer to join our National Bridge Group. In this role you will support a variety of projects in Florida and across the Southeast. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your technical expertise and management skills as part of an industry leading firm built on a culture of collaboration. In this position you will serve as a technical lead for infrastructure projects and direct the work of junior engineering staff and CAD technicians. You will work closely with other discipline leads to provide innovative solutions for our clients, including state DOT’s, municipal entities, and contractors. You will also work with our Florida team to pursue new projects and develop strong client relationships.

Role accountabilities:

  • Serve as lead engineer for bridges and other structures, including new construction, inspection, repair, and rehabilitation projects. This includes leading, assigning and reviewing work and providing technical guidance to the team.
  • Review technical packages as part of our internal Quality Matters program
  • Engage with our marketing teams to support pursuits and proposals
  • Deliver quality plans, calculations, and specifications on schedule.
  • Prepare scope and fee proposals for structures work

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications

  • 12 or more years bridge design experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Registrations/Certifications required: FL PE or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Experience with AASHTO LRFD
  • Experience with FDOT design criteria and standards
  • Familiarity with structural engineering software packages such as: Bentley Open Bridge, Bentley Microstation, MathCAD, and Microsoft Office
  • A valid driver’s license

  • Work independently with minimal direction and oversight.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management skills with the ability to work on multiple unique assignments simultaneously
  • Direct and mentor junior level staff inside of the project team
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively convey information to technical and non-technical individuals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering
  • Experience with Design-Build projects
  • Bridge inspection, repair, and rehabilitation experience
  • Post-tensioned concrete design experience

The salary range for this position is $116000- $174000.
