Compensation: $24 – $31 per hour

Summary
The MOD Accounting Team is looking for a Tax Coordinator who is eager to learn and grow with our organization. The Tax Coordinator will play a critical role in preparing accurate and timely returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and assisting in other various tax-related tasks. They will team with third-party providers to ensure timely filing and payments of property tax filings.
This position will also help the general accounting function, including accounting reconciliations, documentation and preparation of internal and external financial reporting. You should be a proven team-player who is willing to work in a cooperative team and has demonstrated the ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment.
This role reports to the Senior Manager of Accounting and is a hybrid role.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file gross receipts, sales and use tax returns.
- Work cross functionally with the legal, payroll and people teams in registering with new tax jurisdictions.
- Provide help and tracking for property tax filings and payments to third-party providers.
- Assist with responding to federal, state and local notices.
- Help with audits of state and local filings by preparing requested documentation and responding to inquiries from taxing authorities.
- Communicate with field leadership to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of account reconciliations and journal entries for tax related accounts.
- Maintain organized records and documentation for tax requests.
- Assist in improving documentation around internal controls, financial reporting and tax compliance.
- Assist with other administrative projects as assigned and perform ad hoc duties as necessary.

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and working with large sets of data.

Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of professional work experience.
- Experience with SAP.
Physical Requirements
Office work involves remaining in a stationary position most of the time in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse and telephone. Regularly operate a computer and other office equipment. Occasionally move about the work site to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. Exert up to 10 lbs. of pressure occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of pressure frequently or regularly move objects. Communicate and exchange information with co-workers and other people in person and electronically.
