Pay Range

$85,800 – $106,536 Annually

Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. Many factors are taken into consideration when setting starting pay including education, experience, the external labor market, and internal equity.

Job Description

We have an opening for a Taxi Services Lead to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will work independently following established policies, practices, and procedures, and be responsible for the administration of service operations and customer service for Institutional Support Services. This position is in the Institutional Support Services in the Asset Management Department.

You will

  • Oversee Taxi Services training and ensure shuttle bus drivers remain in compliance with institutional and programmatic training requirements.
  • Oversee all LLNS tour requests, including LLNL taxis, and several associated subcontracts.
  • Independently coordinate and provide oversight of daily work activities for shuttle bus drivers and dispatchers assigned to Taxi Services. Oversee taxi services operations, ensuring shuttle bus drivers remain in compliance with institutional and programmatic training requirements, they are conducting work in a safe and secure manner, and interacting effectively with all employees and visitors.
  • Serve as a backup dispatcher, as needed.
  • Serve as the primary institutional Technical Release Representative (TRR) with responsibility for booking transportation requests through subcontractors for tours and visitors at LLNL. Liaison with vendors to ensure accuracy of booking confirmations and making pick-up/drop-off adjustments per customer requests.
  • Adhere to the use of established policies, practices, and procedures to coordinate projects and special assignments.
  • Gather and validate data, maintain metrics and forms, records, databases, and documents, and prepare standard reports for customer and/or management use and decision making.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Experience supervising and/or leading work activities of a large team and ensuring internal processes are implemented effectively.
  • Experience creating and trending internal metrics, and experience in data gathering.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills sufficient to negotiate, and work with all levels of management and staff internal to the Laboratory.
  • Experience in customer service environment and maintaining effective working relationships with clients, co-workers, external vendors, and service units.
  • Analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills necessary to independently advise, resolve issues, recommend, and approve appropriate actions to implement solutions.
  • Interpersonal skills with ability to work independently as well as function within a team to accomplish goals and objectives of the Department.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact with a diverse disciplines and work environment, including actively participate in discussions of technical or operational nature with customers, all levels of management, scientists, and engineers.

Qualifications We Desire

This is a Flexible Term appointment, which is for a definite period not to exceed six years.If final candidate is a Career Indefinite employee, Career Indefinite status may be maintained (should funding allow).
