TheTeacher Assistant Iis a critical member of the Marletta Darnall Schaumburg Child & Family Center team and will assist the Teacher/Lead Teacher/Master Teacher in implementing activities in the classroom. The Teacher Assistant will enhance the physical, emotional, and cognitive growth of children through play and hands-on experiences. As a Teacher Assistant, you will gain experience in an early childhood classroom and be supported in working towards your career goals in the Early Childhood field. The Teacher Assistant will provide a learning environment that is safe/inclusive for all students and assist with the completion of applicable screenings and evaluations, and document results.
Candidate qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED certificate with some related life experiences or completion of child care course.Child Development Associate (CDA) with a plan to pursue an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development OR Associate’s Degree currently in progress preferred.
- Strongly believe that social skills, self-regulation, and emotional development are just as important as reading and math readiness in successfully preparing children for kindergarten.
- A warm, open communication style and can easily build rapport with both children and adults.
- Attentive to detail, organized, and self-motivated.
Job details:
- Compensation:Salary: Range starts at $16/hr.
- Additional Compensation: $2,000 Hiring Bonus (payable after 60 days of employment, limited time offer).
- Location:Classroom setting; Marletta Darnall Schaumburg Child & Family Center (725 East Schaumburg Road Schaumburg, IL 60194).
- Schedule: Full-time, salaried; center is open Mon-Fri, 7:30am-5:30pm; assigned shifts will vary.
