Teacher/Caregiver:
• Create age-appropriate lesson plans and a schedule of the classrooms’ daily activities. Lesson
plans should be supplied to the director one week in advance.
• Show creativity and innovation in your approach to teaching toddlers/infants.
• Assist the Director in getting parents involved in the daycare’s activities.
• Attend all parent meetings and parentsponsored activities.
• Request supplies and equipment from the director promptly.
• Pay close attention to the children in your care, in order to ensure that their physical, mental,
and emotional needs are being met.
• Visually inspect each child as they arrive or depart. Please document any signs of illness,
abuse, and/or injury. If none are present please note that as well. (ex. Donnie looks well today)
• Do not leave children unsupervised at any time, whether they are in the restroom, transitioning
in/outdoors, or in the classroom.
• Prepare activity centers to create learning opportunities. This can be done inside, as well as out.
• Maintain accurate and precise records for each child. This should include attendance, progress reports, and documentation of injuries, illnesses, and/or signs of abuse.
• Attend and participate in all staff meetings. Please share any ideas you have on how to improve Daycare.
• Maintain a professional and caring attitude at all times.
• Ensure That You have a parent/teacher conference once every 6 months, or as needed to all for open communication regarding the progress of the child. This should also be used to create an environment of active participation in their child’s development while in your care.
• Your classroom’s bulletin board should be decorated monthly, The art board should be changed on a weekly basis.
• Ensure that each child’s work is properly labeled with their first/last name and date, as well as the name of the activity.
• On a monthly basis, ensure that the contact information for each child is current. Please ensure that this is updated in the child’s file, by handing in a copy of the current information to the Director.
• You must participate and assist in leading the children through fire drills and severe weather drills, which are held on a monthly basis.
• Administer medication in a timely manner. Medication shall only be administered to students who have the appropriate forms filled out by their parents. Emergencies ONLY
• Assist in the preparation and serving of meals as needed.
• Teach the children good table manners at mealtime by sitting with the children and holding child-appropriate conversations.
• A caregiver should never on any occasion send a child to tell another teacher/director anything they heard
• Classroom must be cleaned and sanitized daily before leaving, including toys. classroom should also be kept free of hazardous materials.
• The classroom must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected every Friday. This will include all shelves, chairs, bedding, toys, walls, and baseboards. Utensils should also be washed at this time.
• Ensure activities for the morning are prepared and set out the evening before.
• Teach and model positive behaviors. (ex. Respect, generosity, attention, etc.)
• Teach children to be responsible for their actions and to have independence of thought,
• Create a folder for each child in your classroom. Documentation, emergency contact information and progress reports should be kept in the folder.
• Establish rules and post them in the classroom. (ex. The 5 B’s; Besafe, Be kind, Be Honest,
- Once per week, send home a project relating to the week’s curriculum.
• You will be required to attend 24 hours of training per year through an outside agency.
• Plan and coordinate age-appropriate field trips.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
Minimum Qualifications
• 1 year of experience in a licensed Daycare facility, high school diploma/GED or some college hours in the educational field. CPR & 1st Aid, The ability to bend, stoop and sit on the floor with children Must be able to lift 50lbs Ability to accept redirection and/or receive feedback, as needed.

• All caregivers should be ware of each child’s food allergies
• All caregivers should know names, ages and any other important information
