Job Description

The faculty member will teach elementary education and early childhood education courses in the Education Teacher Preparation Program at the undergraduate level, including courses taught both on campus and in an online format and will supervise field work placements. Duties also include student advising, contribution to student growth and development, participation in department and institutional activities, committee assignments, evaluating student performance, scholarly activities, and service to the college and community.
TEACHING RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Deliver classroom and/or online instruction.
• Teach courses in Worthington and online.
• Mentor students.
• Participate in assessment of student learning.
• Participate in department and college curriculum development.
• Participate in college committees and college-wide initiatives.
• Participate in program accreditation and review.
• Engage in scholarly and other professional development activities
• Maintain consistent communication with students, staff, and administration
• Adopt the latest technology into teaching methods
• Participate in new course development.
• Conduct classroom research and other assessment/evaluation activities.
• Experience working with underserved populations.
COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinate the teacher pathway for the college.
• Support partners in the teacher pathway project.
• Work with partners to develop an effective framework.
• Develop and implement an evaluation plan for the education transfer pathway.
• Assist with the aligning, articulating, and implementing cultural responsive teaching practices.
• Coordinate field experiences for education programs.
• Support communication efforts of the program.
• Participate in program review.
• Assist with PELSB and accreditation efforts.
• Coordinate Educators Rising club.
• Provide information on professional development opportunities (local, regional, and national) to involved teachers.

Required Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Education.
• Three full-time years (or equivalent) of verified teaching experience at the elementary or secondary level. One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) post-secondary teaching experience in the credential filed within the last five years.

Preferred Qualifications
• Doctorate in Education or appropriately related field.
• K-12 licensure or ability to obtain.
• Five years of college-level or university-level teaching experience.
• Experience with implementation of pedagogy for technical and community college students, as well as with university students.
• Qualifications in content area for teaching methods courses in ELED (reading, math, TESL, language arts, science, etc.).
• Experience with concurrent enrollment or PSEO.
• Experience teaching online and hybrid courses.
• Skills using latest teaching technologies, including learning management systems, video, and more.
• Understanding of the mission of the community and technical college.
• Multilingual or multicultural background.
