Purpose Statement
Under the supervision of the Principal, the TOSA serves as an instrumental leader in the planning, coordination, and administration of school activities and programs. Job responsibilities include a variety of tasks in the areas of curriculum, instruction, assessment, student conduct and attendance, athletics and extracurricular activities, school plant operations, and the supervision and evaluation of assigned personnel. Essential Functions
Administration:

  • Ability to use and implement teacher supervision and positive discipline procedures as a tool to improve instruction.

  • Assists students in establishing high standards of conduct.
  • Interviews students and witnesses in disciplinary investigations
  • Disciplines students from school in accordance with Board policy and state law
  • Coordinates with outside agencies and organizations
  • Compares information or data with other records for verification.
  • Manages school operations in the absence of Principal and Assistant Principal
  • Maintains positive school climate.
  • Communicates and conducts appropriate parent/teacher conferences related to attendance and discipline matters.
  • Assists the principal in providing leadership with teachers and team leaders.
  • Researches, develops and implements programs to improve student attendance and discipline.
  • Assists staff with behavior management plans for students with chronic discipline problems.
  • Assists the principal with interviewing and evaluating staff.
  • Assists the principal with development of School Improvement Plans
  • Performs other tasks, duties, and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.
  • Driven to attain results; proven experience and effectiveness in improving student achievement in classroom and/or school.

Minimum Qualification:

  • Arizona teaching certificate required.
  • 3 years’ successful teaching experience required.
  • Administrative license preferred.
  • Graduate administrative coursework in progress, including a course in Supervision of Instruction

Experience
Job related experience within specialized field is required.

Education
Master’s degree from an accredited educational institution.
