General Summary and Purpose:
The Technical Accounting Manager is a core member of the Finance Team. This role’s primary function is to drive
projects related to acquisitions, revenue recognition, lease accounting, other technical accounting areas/issues,
financial reporting and implementation of accounting policies. This position will work closely with the Accounting
and Finance senior leadership with opportunities to further develop processes within our rapidly growing
company.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the implementation and creation of accounting policies under US GAAP, including new
    guidance, and related internal controls (e.g., review controls, processes, and thresholds). Work with
    corporate accounting, FP&A, and other stakeholders to manage the governance and adherence to
    BioLife’s accounting policies, standards, and related controls.
  • Manage and perform accounting research for complex transactions. Stand up and manage the process
    for ongoing review of significant contracts (e.g., revenue, purchases, lending activities, etc.) and other
    accounting areas involving significant judgments/estimates by management.
  • Manage or serve as the subject matter experts for complex accounting areas, e.g., debt, equity, revenue
    recognition (ASC 606), lease accounting (ASC 842), financial instruments, credit losses/provisions (ASC
    326), tax provision, translation and consolidation, internally developed software, and other areas as
    needed.
  • Manage preparation of quarterly and annual financial statement supporting schedules, disclosures, and
    various checklists in accordance with US GAAP
  • Prepare written accounting positions papers on an as-needed basis for review by management and
    external auditors.
  • Liaison with external auditors and assist in supporting audit and reviews.
  • Key contributor in system design and implementation, ensuring critical accounting and SOX issues are
    properly addressed.
  • Assist with any ad-hoc projects or tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree required
  • Minimum of five years Accounting and/or Finance experience required, with at least two years in public
    accounting
  • Excellent knowledge of SEC rules and regulations, US GAAP, and internal controls (SOX)
  • Financial analysis skills
  • Sound interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with team members, vendors, and customers
  • MS Office products proficiency and an ability to quickly learn accounting software
  • Ability to manage a large volume of documentation and multiple tasks simultaneously, while
    maintaining a high level of organization
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills. The role will require interaction with a wide range of
    fellow team members, senior leaders, as well as external auditors and experts.
  • Open to change and willing to learn new skills

The US base salary range for this position at full-time is $63,900 – $132,300 (yr). Our salary ranges are determined by position, level, location, and market competitive benchmarks. Individual pay within a level is determined by work location, job related skills, experience, education, and training.
