POSITION DESCRIPTION: Provides web design and development, routine site and content maintenance, and various updates to ensure sites align with the goals and objectives of the Department and overseeing the content management system (CMS) used to control the information on the website.

Serves as a liaison with other departments and divisions to ensure that the website represents the Department accurately.

Collects and analyzes web analytics and similar data; identifies opportunities to improve search engine optimization (SEO), time on site, web traffic, and other relevant metrics.

Perform technical work planning, designing, implementing, managing and supporting the technical assets that support the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT’s) Enterprise Business applications, including off-the-shelf software products.

Assists employees with the use of Department websites through one-on-one support, user guides, and training. Maintains current knowledge of best practices and emerging developments in web design, web development, and technology.

Serve as a liaison between the customers and the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to provide technical solutions to business problems. Develop and maintain expertise in the business unit(s) supported to gain an understanding of their business processes and recommend solutions, whether technical or process based.

Review current system documentation to gain familiarity with the customer’s operations, understanding their processes and functions, and components to become familiar with application functionality, workflow, and data. Monitor the Service Desk system and tickets, review the issue and provide resolution.

OTHER JOB RELATED REQUIREMENTS: This position may be entrusted with access to confidential or sensitive data, with specific authorization from the Manager of the Application Services. This position is authorized to perform duties related to the production environment which requires a high level of trusted security.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and one years of experience in computer systems analysis, computer programming or in planning or designing distributed computer systems; or A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course of study in one of the computer sciences or in management information systems and one year experience in computer systems analysis, computer programming or in planning or designing distributed computer systems; or A master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course of study in one of the computer sciences or in management information systems; or Two years of experience as described above and either (1) completion of a 720 classroom hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or accredited community college in an area of data processing (excluding data entry), or (2) 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of college course work from an accredited institution which includes four courses in computer science or management information systems. Experience as described above can be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required college education. Completion of a one-year program of study from a vocational/technical school in an area of data processing (excluding data entry) can substitute for one year of the required experience.
