Technical Architect

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Technical Architect is a key member of the IT Team in ensuring the Marketing systems and related components are kept current, operational, and compatible. Another important aspect of this role is to work with teams by documenting and addressing bugs, conflicts, and other issues that may impact their workflows and usage of the Marketing systems and related components.

To ensure success as a technical architect, you should have extensive knowledge of enterprise networking systems, advanced problem-solving skills, and the ability to project manage. A top-class technical architect can design and implement any size system.

The focus of this position is to ensure all Marketing systems and related components are supported and functioning properly. This includes keeping software up-to-date with patches from vendors with minimal or no downtime to the systems, as well as acting as tier one and two support of all Marketing systems and related components.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain marketing systems and related components with latest and compatible patches per vendor, and execute system testing before production deployment to support the business
  • Report and address bugs in software with vendor support platforms, and follow up on tickets to ensure issues are resolved
  • Configure marketing systems and related components to support new departments and business processes as directed by partnership with the business team
  • Detailed system documentation and tracking of all changes performed, including building processes and system/component implementations
  • Monitoring and support of the system and related components, and UI/UX optimization
  • Configure the application to support new departments and business process
  • Determining whether the current system can be upgraded or if a new system needs to be installed.
  • Providing design ideas and schematics.
  • Meeting with the software developers to discuss the system software needs.
  • Open and mange any and bugs that are identified as platform issues with vendors and follow up on all issues / bugs
  • Troubleshooting systems issues as they arise.
  • Overseeing all the moving parts of the system integration.
  • Measuring the performance of the upgraded or newly installed system.
  • Training staff on system procedures.
  • Providing the company with post-installation feedback.
  • Ensure that Open Text software is up to date for marketing systems.
  • Keep all supporting platform software up to date on the latest security patches
  • Report any bugs in software with vendor support and follow up on items to ensure they are resolved
  • Configure the application to keep support new departments and business process as directed by Manager
  • Any additional work as directed by manager

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3-5 years’ experience supporting any Digital Asset Management platform (OpenText Media Manager preferred)
  • Proficient with Web Technologies and Standards
  • Proficient with application platform layer technologies, installation and configuration (Jboss, Apache, TomEE, Java)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows OS
  • Proficient with Microsoft SQL Server
  • A passion for or background in photography or graphic design is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science.
  • Previous work experience as a technical architect.
  • Managerial experience is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise systems, networking modules, and software integration.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and networking systems.
  • Familiarity with programming languages, operating systems, and Office software.
  • Advanced project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to see big-picture designs from basic specifications.
  • Ability to problem solve complex IT issues

PAY RANGE: $90,000 – $120,000
