Pay Range
$36.50 – $45.32 Hourly for the 538.2 level
$43.78 – $54.35 Hourly for the 538.3 level
Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. Many factors are taken into consideration when setting starting pay including education, experience, the external labor market, and internal equity.
Job Description
Environment, Safety and Health Directorate has an opening for aTechnical Coordinator/Sr. Technical Coordinator. Under general supervision, you will provide general technical and administrative support for the procurement, shipping, receiving, manufacturing, and repair of materials and equipment for scientific or technical customers. You will interact with designers, various disciplines, technicians, programs, outside suppliers and vendors. This position is in Environment Safety and Health Directorate and will report to the ES&H Directorate Projects and Operations Supervisor.
This position will be filled at eitherlevel based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.
You will
- Provide general technical and administrative coordination support to various disciplines, technical and administrative personnel in connection with technical projects, experiments, facility operations or similar research activities.
- Procure a variety of equipment and materials and coordinate and track materials and parts for ES&H customers and jobs.
- Coordinate mechanical and electronic assembly projects, and document activities.
- Review technical drawings for accuracy and completeness and resolve basic technical issues.
- Participate as project team member involved in planning and may support equipment acquisition requirements, including installation.
- Coordinate the workflow and report on ES&H projects.
- Serve as primary property representative for the ES&H Directorate.
- Manage fleet and vehicle inventory for the directorate.
- Ensure that assignments are performed in compliance with ES&H and security requirements and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional job responsibilities, at the 538.3 level
- Participate and/or lead project team to coordinate material/equipment acquisition including, installation and/or a scientific or engineering project or program.
- Recommends technical commitments and interpretation of standards. Lead, train or mentor other 500s.
- Anticipate and reconcile support problems including technical factors affecting critical milestones, developing solutions to resolve moderately complex technical problems and collaborate with technical project personnel to develop appropriate solutions.
Qualifications
- Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
- AA degree in an electronics or mechanical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Intermediate skills and understanding of relevant technologies and processes, including standards, procedures and techniques related to coordination.
- Knowledge of or experience with procurement, shipping, and receiving of electronics materials and equipment.
- Ability to work in a multi-task environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication, presentation.and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter, organized, and a team player.
- Experience with personal computer and associated software, i.e. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Email (Outlook), and various internet browsers.
- Experience working in a fast paced, deadline driven customer service organization.
Additional qualifications at the 538.3 level
- Advanced skills and understanding of relevant technologies and processes, including standards, procedures and techniques related to coordination.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills to interact effectively with co-workers, building residents, management, other internal organizations, vendors, outside suppliers, and contractors.
- Intermediate knowledge of or experience with procurement, shipping, and receiving of electronics materials and equipment.
Qualifications We Desire
- Intermediate knowledge and/or experience with technical drawings.
- Experience with LLNL software such as LINCS.

Security Clearance
