The Construction Management Division is staffed by more than 400 professionals who provide program management, construction management, design-build, construction supervision and inspection services. We consistently rank in the top 20 CM firms nation-wide.
Our construction management specialists oversee projects both large and small, ranging into the Billions of dollars. We take on a diverse range of assignments that include infrastructure projects as well as healthcare, educational, institutional, manufacturing, and commercial clients.
We are seeking a Technical Director- Special Inspections.
Must have a minimum of twenty-five (25) years of NYC construction experience in progressively more difficult and responsible construction management roles for projects with total project values greater than $1Billion. Construction experience must include heavy civil: concrete (FRP), structural steel, asphalt paving, underground utilities, and building construction (core/shell and interiors including MEP).
• Must be a New York State Licensed Professional Engineer and fully certified to conduct, review, and certify all Special Inspections required under the New York City Building Code.
• Must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience managing a group of five (5) to ten (10) direct report certified Special Inspectors in Heavy Civil and building construction including the preparation and management of all associated tasks and procedures.
• Must be able to sign & seal all such Special Inspections as an agent to the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey (Port Authority).
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and written with multiple airport stakeholders including but not limited to Port Authority, consultants, and contract staff, JFK operations personnel, developers, tenants, NYS Licensed Professionals of all disciplines, contractors, and tradesmen.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare, organize, and conduct all associated meeting, prepare, and main
tain all Port Authority required documentation and records.
• Demonstrated experience supervising and coordinate all special inspection related activities at multiple site locations simultaneously.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
• Must have OHSA 30 construction safety training.
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
• Must have a solid knowledge of the NYC Building Code, and all other jurisdictional codes and standards applicable in the City and State of New York.
Previous Port Authority construction experience is desirable.
• Competent in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel
• Familiarity with Primavera P6, Expedition/Contract Manager, Procure and/or e-Builder.
• Ability to pass a Background Check for both SWAC and SIDA (airside access).
Salary range $187,200 – $249,600
