As part of the AWS Infrastructure organization, Data Center Planning and Delivery (DCPD) prepares for, plans, and builds the data centers that comprise the AWS cloud.
We’re seeking an experienced Technical Infrastructure Program Manager in Herndon, VA, Arlington, VA, or Seattle, WA to oversee data center infrastructure expansion projects in support of U.S. Government customers. The Senior Technical Infrastructure Program Manager will lead cross-functional and technical teams from conceptual design feasibility through requirements, budget, completed design, implementation, testing, and deployment. Along the way, they will use judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence without authority, analytical talent, technical aptitude, and leadership to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders across multiple time zones, manage capital budgets, eliminate non-value-add activity, design solutions, remove blockers, and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery.

The ideal candidate will be an exceptionally strong communicator, both written and verbally, and possess 3-5+ years of experience in tactical project management of highly technical initiatives. Calibrated judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence without authority, analytical talent and leadership is a must, along with the capacity to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment. Experience in managing data center infrastructure deployments is a plus. Candidates possessing a Bachelor’s degree in architecture/design, mechanical/electrical engineering, software/network engineering, data center infrastructure/operations, and/or construction management, who have transitioned to a program management discipline will have a distinct advantage.
The Technical Infrastructure Program Manager will be fully competent in a variety of project management tools, methodologies and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle and exhibit demonstrated experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting and metric development/tracking. Other requirements include experience with MS Office, MS Project and MS SharePoint. Experience with Tableau, KanBan, Playbook, SQL and systems integration a plus.
This position requires the selected candidate to possess a U.S. citizenship and, after start, the selected candidate must obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance with or without polygraph and satisfy other security related requirements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 3+ years of technical product or program management experience
– 4+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
– Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
– 4+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
– Experience managing technical programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
– Bachelor’s degree in architecture, electrical/mechanical engineering, civil engineering/construction management, or equivalent professional experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps
– Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design
– Master’s degree or advanced professional certifications in management of complex, high value technology infrastructure projects.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $101,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
