Job Description

This is intended as a 12-18month, at-will, full-time appointment with strong potential for transition to a permanent position based on performance and available funding. The primary responsibility will be support of the Sustained Dialogue on Peaceful Uses (SDPU), including taking a leadership role in some aspects of this project. The SDPU will bring key individuals and organizations from the development community, corporations, and the public sector in developing countries to address systemic development issues and challenges and opportunities related to nuclear technology. An entrepreneurial mindset is essential, following up on outcomes and recommendations of SDPU events and forging new relationships with participating members of the scientific and development community.

International travel (up to 30%) will be required. The position may be fully-remote, but proximity to the Washington, DC area is preferred. Working unusual hours to manage relationships across all time zones is required.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Maximizing the development impact of the SDPU, including designing and participating in SDPU events and following up on connections and opportunities that arise through the SDPU
  • Designing, facilitating, and executing new development projects related to the SDPU
  • Pursuing new partnerships and funding opportunities
  • Providing technical support to other CRDF Global projects, time permitting, which may include security assistance, global health, and climate programming
  • Conducting outreach to partners on behalf of CRDF Global and the SDPU, interfacing directly with partners, diplomats, clients, thought leaders, experts, and influencers to advance the goals of the SDPU
  • Writing proposals, publications, and issue papers related to SDPU
  • Conducting and supporting outreach events in support of CRDF Global, such as conferences, professional forums, and other thought leadership events
  • Sharing professional guidance and mentorship with junior staff

Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D., terminal degree, or equivalent history of scholarship in an area related to
    • Healthcare, especially fields related to nuclear medicine
    • Water security and resource management
    • Sustainable agriculture
    • Food security, safety, and sustainability
    • Nuclear sciences
  • OR at least 6 years of exceptional experience in international development, an outstanding record of leadership and program management, and a demonstrated capacity to work with research and technology projects and professional networks.
  • Experience or demonstrated familiarity with the development community
  • Experience or demonstrated skills in shaping and participating in high level diplomatic or professional events
  • Diverse and well-informed perspectives on how to design and execute sustainable development projects
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the use of diverse digital communication platforms and forms of publication
  • Intersectional interests and an ability to quickly develop new expertise

Salary & Benefits: The base pay range for this position is $112,400 to $140,500. The determination of salaries in this job classification depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, relevant candidate experience, job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills.
