Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
JOB OVERVIEW:
The technical lead engineer will lead a team of software engineers to design and develop custom software, systems, and integrations. Development teams are composed of cross-functional roles including developers, QA engineers, and business systems analysts. The technical lead is expected to be fluent in Java with solid experience in a popular J2EE framework, but there may be opportunities or requirements to leverage other languages or tools as needed. The successful candidate will embody a spirit of continuous improvement, driving innovation and technical advancements while meeting the project needs of the business. An understanding of genetics, chemistry or biology is not required for this role, but may be helpful.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead a small team of developers in design and development of web applications
- Review other team members’ code with strict guidelines in place
- Design and architect technical solutions to business problems with engineers and architects
- Meet with clients, partners, product owners, or other stakeholders to understand and clarify workflows and requirements
- Provide regular status updates on high-visibility projects
- Highlight blockers or issues arising during development to resolve in a timely manner
- Monitor process and log information, troubleshoot issues as needed
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field with 8+ years of experience
- Strong proficiency in Java programming language, with a deep understanding of its core concepts, data structures, and design patterns
- Proven experience in leading software development projects, with a focus on Java-based solutions
- Solid understanding and practical experience with Java frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate) and related technologies
- Familiarity with database technologies, such as SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience in AWS or other cloud technologies
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and familiarity with DevOps practices
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound technical decisions
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with the capability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Past experience in health care industry is preferred
