The AFX organization is launching an experience that unifies tooling, ML-based insights, AI-powered and automation into a single pane of glass. The building of the experience spans the entire AFX organization of more than 900 builders, and serves 65K+ AWS Field customers. The AWS Field Experiences (AFX) Business Strategy and Operations team supports the AFX organization to enable the most effective and efficient Field organization on earth and delight AWS customers. Our team focuses on the strategic and operational efforts for AFX to drive the rhythm of business operations, run programs to engage our stakeholders for roadmap feedback, and cross-team activities. This is a highly visible role that frequently collaborates with our team leaders and executives to develop and drive workback plans in support of overarching AFX Initiatives that support our Field customers.
Key job responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to join our fast-paced, mission-oriented team. The role will streamline operational cadences for multiple complex programs, manage key strategic initiatives and help our org deliver at scale. In this position, you will be responsible for the tactical management of information, analyzing disparate data, writing organizational planning documents, and providing executive-level summaries, key insights and recommendations. As a core member of the Business Strategy & Operations team, you will take ownership of managing multiple projects simultaneously, innovate to organize and streamline processes, increase visibility, transparency and help reduce duplicative efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong technical program management skills and experience in business operations. The candidate must be a seasoned business writer, with the ability to translate technical jargon, differing perspectives, and effectively communicate through writing up to VP level leadership teams, including: innovative ideas, data, metrics, proposals, and business reviews. A team player with a passion to win together, deliver projects with velocity, results-oriented, ability to work both independently and with others, bias for action and willingness to embrace tactical excellence are essential pre-requisites for success in this role.
A day in the life
* Manage multiple complex programs simultaneously for various stakeholders
* Develop mechanisms/processes to streamline and deliver at scale
* Write executive-level documents (e.g. annual operational planning)
* Create high-level timelines, roadmaps, project plans, and manage expectations across multiple stakeholders
* Provide regular updates on success metrics and performance through operating rhythm of the business
* Analyze data and synthesize key insights for executive summaries
* Standardize, simplify and help communicate timely information across the organization
* Identify trends and create solutions to mitigate risk
* Daily tactical reporting updates and assimilation of data in Smartsheet, Excel, Word and Power Point.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 8+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
– Experience leading highly technical programs involving infrastructure, complex systems, systems engineering
– Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
– Experience with MS Project, MS Office, and MS Sharepoint
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– 7+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
– Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
– Experience defining KPI’s/SLA’s used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
