The Amazon Detective Tooling Security Engineering team is looking for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) who has a strong passion for security-at-scale. The AWS Security team is responsible for the security and availability of all of the services offered by AWS. This includes cloud services such as EC2 and S3 as well as consumer offerings like Amazon Appstore and Cloud Drive. This is a high visibility team that solves security challenges at a massive scale.
You will be a TPM for a team that develops tools to automatically find security problems in AWS source code, services and resources. Our team deals with immense quantities of code and resources, pushing the envelope on scale and advanced analytical techniques to find and mitigate security threats. We work closely with AWS’s security analysts, incident response engineers, and automated reasoning experts to drive security improvements. We take cutting-edge program analysis techniques and turn them into tools that find security problems at scale. You will help drive AWS Security’s adoption of new automatic security analysis techniques to keep AWS secure while it expands rapidly.
Key job responsibilities
– Help shape the vision for how static and dynamic analysis will improve security at AWS.
– Drive engagement with AWS service and security teams. Coordinate with partner teams and internal customers so that our detection analysis technology fits with the overall security assessment and improvement process at AWS.
– Drive investigations into security issues and identify opportunities for further automation to eliminate future issues.
– Manage escalations of security risks to internal stakeholders.
– Resolve ambiguities and align team plans to minimize technical risk and maximize odds of project success.
– Develop and review requirements for security automation tools.
– Work with third-party tool suppliers to evaluate and integrate security automation tools.
– Track and report the team’s progress using metrics that capture impact and value.
– Track and drive software development.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
– Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
– Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent
– Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design
– Experience working directly with engineering teams
– Minimum of 5 years of experience with any combination of the following: mobile security, threat modeling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security
– Knowledge and understanding of security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, or application security
– An understanding of network and web related protocols (such as, TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols)
– Experience with multiple programming languages is a definite plus(such as, Java, C++, Ruby, Python, Perl, etc.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience implementing and/or driving security solutions at the business level
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Demonstrable teamwork skills and resourcefulness
– Self-starter
– Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
