Technical Program Manager III, World Wide Design Engineering (WWDE)

We are looking for an experienced, driven, and analytical Sr. Technical Program Manager with outstanding leadership skills to lead advanced automation projects for Amazon’s operating facilities. In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to design high quality, cost effective solutions for our fulfillment and distribution systems. You will own multiple projects simultaneously, from concept realization through design approval. You’ll support our tactical design teams with subject matter expertise in the pursuit of next generation concepts.

Your projects may include green-fields, brown-fields, and retrofits, including highly automated fulfillment centers, cross-dock facilities, and transportation centers. Your projects will be a variety of template-based and designed-from-scratch.

A successful candidate excels in both strategic thinking and tactical execution, is comfortable with ambiguity and thrives in driving large-scale changes. This individual should be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment with fast delivery time and rapid iteration. You will have high ownership of your work as proven by a track record of working in a cross-functional capacity and driving projects to their completion while delivering operational excellence. You are detail-oriented, agile, with strong time management, communication, and project management skills, and have experience working across Amazon’s Supply Chain. You anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and make tradeoffs when necessary. Keys to success include strong motivation to dive deep into the data to uncover root causes and solving problems independently.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

– 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

– 3+ years of software development experience

– 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

– Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

– Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

– Experience defining KPI’s/SLA’s used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
