Technical Program Manager, Internet Automation and Optimization

The AWS Global Connectivity and Network Availability (GCNA) Organization is looking for a Technical Program Manager to join our Internet Edge team. In this role you will lead and work hand-in-hand with Software and Network Engineering teams to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks, and to discover innovative ways to automate and scale our network as we expand globally.

The Technical Program Manager will help track and deliver on the rapidly growing feature set necessary to support the growing network. You should be somebody who is passionate about process and process improvements with experience or a strong interest in large scale distributed services. You must enjoy a close-knit team environment of shared responsibility. The ideal candidate will have technical background in networking and programming and have deep experience managing teams of five or more to meet an aggressive schedule and apply meaningful process changes to improve efficiency and productivity.

Successful candidates will enjoy managing programs to deliver valuable features that exceed stakeholder expectations and have outstanding analytical skills and excellent communication. You will thrive in a highly collaborative, creative, analytical, and fast-paced environment and are comfortable interacting with highly technical software and networking development teams.

You must be analytical and possess excellent problem-solving skills. Your oral and written communication skills will be superlative. You will be passionate about your work, see the strategic big-picture yet be detail-oriented and be organized. You will have proven leadership skills in a very fast-paced highly demanding environment.You will have a software development background with experience in software development cycle and managing cross-functional programs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 3+ years of technical product or program management experience

– 2+ years of software development experience

– 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

– Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $101,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
