Develop a scalable and effective technical strategy to support the rhythm of the business and organizational goals. Determines the technique needed and develops analytic models to understand complex business issues and provide data-driven insights by integrating statistical inference, Machine Learning modeling, and/or other advanced analytical methods to manage, classify and analyze complex data from a variety of sources. Understands and anticipates both business and data requirements, identifies how to optimally integrate data, evaluates analytic techniques and assumptions, and determines follow-up actions to share insights that drive decision-making to address specific business needs. Develops presentations of analytic results that explain the story behind the results via data visualizations, slides, and talking points that focus audiences on relevant insights, their business implications, and any limitations associated with the findings. Builds, executes, and/or provides consultation and support for formal experiments to evaluate the impact of changing or introducing new features or processes, evaluate potential risks, and/or to test assumptions. Identifies and promotes methods that enable core work to be more efficient, accessible, discoverable, and directed to meaningful interpretation of data. Works with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure data quality, appropriate use of tools and processes, leverage others’ data and/or models, and to drive the adoption of more efficient features, processes, and/or reporting tools across teams. Sets up integrated datasets and frameworks for Business Analysts, partners with Data Science and/or Applied Science teams to develop Machine Learning models and/or advanced analysis tools/algorithms, and/or partners with Data Engineering teams to help set up data infrastructure and pipelines. Telecommuting permitted 100% from any location in mainland U.S.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree of foreign equivalent degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
- Experience: Two (2) years of experience in data analytics, business analytics, or data visualization.
- Specific Skills: Experience must include 12 months of experience in Big Data modeling and analysis; SQL and T-SQL; Azure Machine Learning Studio; Reporting; Storytelling; Dax/PowerBI; and managing software or business processes for operations, systems, projects, tools, or policies.
Pay Range and Benefits Information
The offered base pay range for this specific position (TSCBK16624), based in Redmond, WA (but telecommuting permitted 100% from any location in the U.S.), is $145,380 to $175,380.
Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.
At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus, and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
